Jun 19, 2017 When using Windows on a Mac computer, the function keys (F1-F12) may not work properly when using programs like Case CATalyst. This is because, by default, the function keys control hardware features like increasing the volume, the brightness of the screen, media keys, etc. Aug 04, 2015 Before, on Windows 8, the Function Keys seemed to work just fine. After the Windows 10 Upgrade, the Fn Keys stopped working. I got F1, F2 to work (Brightness) by going on Control Panel - Bootcamp - Keyboard. But that's it, I didn't get the rest to work. Aug 15, 2018 Probably the most common reason Mac owners use Boot Camp is to play Windows-only games. For instance, PC MMOs such as Star Trek Online, Tera, and Star Wars: The Old Republic only run on Windows.

May 13, 2016 By request, I am writing a tutorial to enable AHCI mode for iMacs which run Windows in IDE mode (via Bootcamp partitioning) I am using 21' iMac mid 2011 model. I installed Samsung 840 Evo SSD. But SSD benchmarks in Windows gave 30-40% lower than the rated performance. Since High Sierra, the macOS partition is formatted APFS. Due to what I presume is an oversight by Apple, the Boot Camp Control Panel only looks for HFS+ partitions as suitable startup disks. Therefore macOS partition won’t show in Boot Camp Control Panel since High Sierra.
